1994, Greek Cypriot, born in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Art has always been the thread running through everything I do. Growing up in Nicosia, I spent my formative years in Lia Boyiatzi’s studio, where I was introduced to drawing, painting, and most crucially, composition. After high school, a Foundation year at the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, Kent marked a turning point: it was the year my mind and hand found its freedom. A close friendship with a fellow student rooted in graffiti, sharpened that instinct further, teaching me that the most powerful marks are often the ones made without hesitation.
I went on to study Architecture at the University of Edinburgh, later completing my studies at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. In between, and alongside, I lived and worked in London, Berlin, and Rotterdam. Those years across Europe were as much an artistic education as an architectural one. I ran after exhibitions, spent hours in museums and galleries wherever I lived or travelled, absorbing as much as possible. A sketchbook was always within reach: a personal archive of gestures, details, and ideas collected from the world around me.
In 2022 I returned to Cyprus, and with me came years of accumulated experience, observation, and creative energy that had never had the space to fully surface. I made a deliberate decision: it was time to paint. Not occasionally, not as a side pursuit - but with real commitment and intent. Everything I had absorbed over two decades finally converged on the canvas!
Each work I produce carries the weight of that long journey. I paint with the seriousness of someone who has waited a long time to say something, and with the confidence of someone who has spent considerable time preparing to say it. My work is rooted in contemporary abstraction, deeply informed by a lifelong fascination with Abstract Expressionism. While my style embraces bold expression, it is often balanced by a deliberate, minimalist sensibility which sometimes overpowers abstraction.
This website is both a record of where I am and a commitment to where I am going. Welcome.
